Hello Everyone, Well we are into the 4th week in college football and I haven't seen any posts on any of you favorite teams. I guess I will start it off by talking about my Iowa Hawkeyes !!! Gotta Lov'em !!! Quite proud of them especially after being a ten point underdog and they came back after the first quarter fiasco being down 10-0 and won 21- 19 and basically shut down Penn State again. We have a tough road ahead off us but are looking surprisingly well. Well all I can say for now is Go Hawkeye's !!! See Ya, Bye Burly

Burly...that was a great game for Iowa...I am a Big Ten fan first...an Illinois fan second, (painful so far this year)...Northwestren fan third, (only 25 miles from me)...and I got to admit, I like Wisconsin, only 1 1/2 hours. I usually root for the underdog, so I am frequently disappointed. whtractor/banghead.gif

I think the duke was on the edge of his chair watching the Mich/Ind game Saturday. whtractor/yankchain[1].gif

I am not sure about Minnasota yet...but they "got er done" at Northwestern.

I am guessing that it is another Mich/Ohio St. season for the Big Ten. whtractor/not_worthy.gif

I hate to jinks you geys, but I am rooting for Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota america.gif
the best shot against the two perrinials. america.gif

I really thought Illinois would be a contender this year...they don't even look like they want to be out there on the field. whtractor/hide.gif something is not right in Champaigne.

It truly has been an exciting season so far. Plenty of drama and throwing things at the television! whtractor/yankchain[1].gif

John, that was a fantastic game for the Hawkeyes. You had to be loving every minute of it.

The Wolverines are about a year away from clicking on all cylinders. Still learning the new system with many new faces. Not bad since we have already surpassed last year's win total. Still plenty of room for improvement! And improve we will. It is nice knowing that Tressel is looking over his shoulder and taking notice.........the Wolverines are on their way back!

Well Guys, Iowa had a good win last week over Penn State,This week should be relatively an easy win but one never knows. Michigan is finally leaving the Big House and headed across the state to Lansing. That will actually possibly be a toughie for them because I think them Spartans are Hungry !!! They have had to many close games and could really use this one to turn there season around. So anyway then you guys come to my House, Kinnick Stadium !!! Boy Howdy I can't wait till that game rolls around. Personally myself, I believe the Hawkeyes are the sleeper in The Big Ten this year. You can say you heard it hear First !!!
Go Hawkeyes !!! See Ya, Bye Burly

Well, Illinois gets to play #15 Penn St. this week. whtractor/hide.gif Gives us a better chance against them now ...as last week when they were #5 whtractor/whistling2.gif

How is that for Big Ten logic? whtractor/huh.gif

Scott...that Mich/Ind game had to be ruff for you...you couldn"t lose. laughter.gif

I really thougfht there might be more back and forth here (in fun) seeing all the people on this site that live in the Big Ten area.

For you ACC guys...you got to give it to the Orangemen, playing 3 Big Ten foes in a row and winning one of them. No Appalation St. freebees there. whtractor/applause.gif
Might as well throw the Irish on that band wagon ...they deserve a hand also for playing real foes.

Duke...I would have loved to watch the Ind game with you last Sat. That was a really well played game. I can see you going nuts at times during that one. After all...the series is something like Ind/7 Mich/50 in head to head games. laughter.gif

Brrly...thanks for beating that team last weekend...11 teams in the Big Ten, I still have trouble with the math, although they are a very welcome addition.

Wish us luck this weekend. whtractor/banghead.gif

Well Duke and all of you Michigan Wolverine fans, you heard it hear first. The Spartans were hungry, just like I thought, I am hoping that the Hawkeyes are just as hungry next week because you are coming to our House " Kinnick Stadium "
Nothing more than that needs to be said for now Go Hawkeyes !!!

In all good fun I hope you read your post over again........

Never once have I said that the Wolverines have made it........but they are on their way. I think that is a fair assessment.

In order to be on their way........the vest needs to look over his shoulder. He isn't chasing yet, but in time will be.

I am glad you are as passionate about your buckeyes as I am with my Wolverines.

Also a congrats goes out to Burly! Those Hawkeyes aren't going to be a roll over team this year!

Scott, To be truthfully honest I don't think the Hawkeyes have ever been a roll over team. Let us not forget Michigan's loss to the University of Toledo last year, I know that I won't. Toledo is actually doing pretty good this year also. You have the Buckeyes and the Wolverines of course getting all the top recruits but then come these other teams with the same kind of recruits that end up going to the shall we say smaller schools but have the same kind of energy as the top recruits and it just makes for a great game no matter who they play for. Yes with Michigan coming to Iowa next week all I can say is " Go Hawkeyes " Thats my story and I am sticking to it. " Go Hawkeyes "

Hey Duke, I guess you forgot about Hayden Fry, Iowa has been doing things for quite a while. It don't matter how many facts you post, Iowa won!! Yeah basically a close game but even though we still came out on Top. Its like Big Deal Mich. is one of the top programs in the U.S. none the less they didn't win this one. I am sure if they would have you would have been tooting your horn. See Ya, Bye

See Ya, Bye
Burly

John you should take your Prosac and go back to bed. whtractor/whistling2.gif If it wasn't for the 5 turnovers we GAVE you the HAWKEYES wouldn't have done chit. whtractor/thumbsup.gif So much for your teams 33 quarters without someone scoring a rushing touchdown! biggrin.gif The WOLVERINES took care of that it short order! whtractor/yankchain[1].gif Your team wouldn't have scored a point without our help.gif And to think, I didn't even get a thank you! whtractor/disgust[1].gif

Huh , Thats really funny, Personally I think the Michigan coach is the one the needs the prosac and bed rest. Maybe he's a little upset because of his failed condo quest. You wouldn't have done chit either if it wasn't for the gift of a touchdown in the first minute. Kind of a gimme if you ask me then what would the score have been then. Don't turn this into personal it's only a Game and you lost!!!

OK...here is what I think. Illinois is a snake in the grass, ready to strike on Halloween against Michigan at Champiegn. TRICK OR TREAT. It would be the vindication of a ghostly season.
Iowa goes on to play in the Rose Bowl, as big ten champs
Northwrestern plays in a bowl also, as does Wis. Minn. Penn St. Ohio St.

That is 6 big ten teams...OK, maybe Michigan in place of either Northwestern or Minn....or maybe 7 teams make it. america.gif whtractor/beerchug.gif

Steve

It would be nice if all the Big Ten teams made it into a bowl game. Dont think it is going to happen but time will tell. Iowa is looking good but I think the only way they go to the Rose Bowl would be if Ohio State goes to a BCS bowl.

Steve I like it when you make predictions! whtractor/thumbsup.gif Will make the victory all the more sweeter! whtractor/whistling2.gif

I am liking what I am seeing out of michigan win or loose. The way they played Iowa was nothing to be ashamed of. We beat ourself and that is the fault of a such a young freshman Team. Everyone can have their fun and enjoy it for a couple years because it wont last long! The Wolverines will return with a Vengence. whtractor/thumbsup2.gif

Well first off all I can say is How about them Hawkeyes !!! Second off is How about the Fighting Illini !!! That was a definite win that Ron Zook has to be proud of. I believe it was a long time since the Illinois had won at home facing Michigan. Congrats Steve you definitely have one to be proud of !!! Well its Northwestern next week at home then its on the road one more time to Columbus, Ohio. I was trying to get some tickets to that game but the swap meet in Wapakoneta is the same weekend. I didn't get to watch todays game because Steve ( Refracman and myself ) were out digging a ditch for our buddy Carl so his sippy pond will drain off when the rains get heavy next spring. About 400 ft worth of digging. I had to call home( back to my sisters to get the score ) Anyways I am a Happy camper. Go Hawkeyes !!! See Ya, Bye Burly

Johm...congrats...those Roses are getting bigger, but if you would have seen the game, you would have wondered where the Hawkeyes were hiding. They were looking like the Ill did for the last 6 weeks....Ind had 2 TD's called back that were questionable calls...crucial. Big Ten Network sometimes runs the game on Sunday morning...they did last week...8 or 9 CST.

I had a feeling Illinois would finally show up for a game...I think Duke knows that teams show up because it is Mich. We won that game...they did not give it to us...so our season is vindicated. Makes me wonder where they have been all year...knew they could play. whtractor/dunno.gif Anyway...that is back to back...hasn't happened since 1957-1958...that is how good Mich is.

I love the big ten america.gif ...go hawkeyes
