The old girl's got a new wrinkle. When I crest a hill, and start down, she revs up. If I'm using the PTO and turn it off, she revs up. Lowering the throttle setting only works about 50% of the time. whtractor/banghead.gif Blipping the throttle will bring her back to idle. whtractor/scratchhead.gif

This is the C-165 Auto, with a K341.

Help, please,
Greg B.

Make sure the spring that closes the govenor arm is in good shape, then you might want to try readjusting the govenor?
Find the shaft at the center of the govenor arm...back of the 1/4" bolt that holds it snug.
Take a small vise grip plier or similiar & clamp it on the shaft so that it holds it in a counter clockwise "CC" pull.
If the shaft spins free...got problems...but if it comes to a stop with the vise grips holding it in a CC direction your good.
Now take the govenor arm and turn it CC too till your at wide open throttle "WOT" and retighten the 1/4" bolt.
Double check all your throttle linkage & the throttle cable to so you know it's closeing the throttle on the carb where it hits the idle speed screw at the top.
See what this does for you Greg.

Serious I hope it helped out the engine reving a bit.
These old Kohlers are pretty simple & easy to work on!
If you don't have one I recommend you get a Kohler K series shop manual.
I read mine almost like a Clive Cussler or Dean Koonts novel.
