dry.gif Hmmppfff... I guess I better not send a pic of my Commando 8 with the side saddle Winchester Lever gun scabbard mounted up..... What could be better than an old Winchester riding side saddle on a HORSE! whtractor/whistling2.gif

I don't think that's a knife scabbard guys, look how big the opening is. I think it was probably used to hold a pair of hand shears or pruners. I carry a set of shears on me when I'm mowing to clip the small areas the tractor won't get to. It's easier than carrying a weed wacker across the hood.

I don't know Jim, the idea of a knife sheath or pistol holster sounds a LOT more entertaining!

I can picture myself picking off stray neighborhood cats whilst piloting my trusty, red steed. laugh.gif

YAAAAAHHHH! Hi ho hydro...AWAY! horseplay.gif

I must admit that back when I mowed my dad's five+ acres of yard with a push mower I would always have at least a .38 in my back pocket. I would cap at least one snake every time. But then again, I'm not sure if I've gone hardly anywhere without some sort of sidearm since I was in the seventh grade. That was back in the days when we had a pistol range INSIDE our high school gymnasium, and a rifle range at the back of the property.

Here's what he replied when I saked him about the sheath;

It's a holder for a set of pruners

Guess he's not the "Rambo" type we figured him for america.gif
