BTW, if you need a shack with a taller garage door to keep it in, let me know... whtractor/whistling2.gif

That's why i built my Workshack extension with nice tall (and wide) doors whtractor/whistling2.gif biggrin.gif

Now how's that saying go... Ah yes... "So close and yet not very far" biggrin.gif
Congrats on getting the beast running Jim whtractor/thumbsup.gif bet you cant wait to get charging around the wood on it biggrin.gif

Well guys, the day came biggrin.gif It works!
Only had one leak, just a fitting that needed tightening. Other than that its just dandy. Honestly, works just as I had hoped. Plenty of power, if you stamp on the pedal you can get the wheels to spin a little biggrin.gif
The steering is a little too many turns lock to lock if I had to pick holes, but I dont think I'll change it, its OK.

Its night time but we got one decent photo. Its ruined the lawn, worth it though

Jim, That thing is awesome group.gif group.gif

Congratulations!!! whtractor/thumbsup2.gif I just wish I had half your ability to fab such an awesome machine. My dad had that ability also. I'll get some pics of the custom 32hp tractor he fabbed in 1967. Once again Congratulations!!! Can't wait to see more pics.

whtractor/not_worthy.gif yay the beast lives whtractor/not_worthy.gif
Great work there Jim whtractor/thumbsup.gif
Driving the beast must make all the work and ruined lawn worthwhile biggrin.gif
Hats off for a job well done whtractor/thumbsup.gif

P.S. I need to pick your brains about hydraulics at some point, your build is giving me ideas for my 6x6x6 project whtractor/whistling2.gif biggrin.gif

Mith- 10-08-2008
Cheers guys.

Ian, pff, I reckon lawns are overrated anyway biggrin.gif
Actually I find it incredibly stressful when its running. If something breaks there isnt much thats cheap to fix.
I'll catch you on MSN some time about the hydraulics.

Missing a few lug bolts. laughter.gif laughter.gif

Mith- 10-14-2008
The missing lug bolts is all to do with superstition, hard to explain, but its working so far.

Those lug bolts are actually much larger than wheelhorse ones. They are off a forklift truck, trade price is something like $14 each (x20 = $280), but I didnt pay that, oh no.....

Yikes! doode... ya fouled up yer pre-heater! biggrin.gif I hate when that happens! whtractor/whistling2.gif

whtractor/thumbsup.gif whtractor/thumbsup.gif whtractor/woohoo.gif its alive!! (evil laughing) biggrin.gif
What can i say but, top work Jim whtractor/thumbsup.gif
You might want to build a bigger workshop though, just to help getting the Hydro-Beast in and out a bit easier biggrin.gif
The big question is...... Whats next? Starting on a new project? or more work on the Hydro-Beast?

Mith- 10-29-2008
More to do yet Ian.

Going to put a blade on the front, and a 3ph on the back. Hydraulic winch too, I'll use that huge blue hydraulic motor I posted a picture of a while ago. That motor has enough power to pull the earth out of orbit.

Works good in the mud, I can see it'll be good in the woods.
