Lucky day!! Hi guys I'm new to the forum and got some questions. I found a old 953 (circa 1963) in my buddys field. I asked him and he gave it to me for free. banana.gif But it needs ALOT of work. Now that I got this beast home and in my garage I can tinker with it. I REALLY want to use this around the yard and garden. My question is, do I need implements strickly for a 953 or will other models fit ( and which) THANKS.

Most rear attachments are interchangeable. None of mine are even wheelhorse.

There are two different type of hitches for the back of the WH tractors... a Slot Hitch that was a wheel horse only thing ( some of the others will correct me if'n im wrong ) and there was also a Clevis Hitch, that was used on alot of attachments, like Brinley Plows, discs, etc etc etc

Nope! as long as you can pull it you can use it! whtractor/thumbsup.gif The slot hitch as these WH brothers stated however will in many case lift the impliment you are useing for example a plow or cultivator. This is done by pulling the lever back on the left side of many older WH tractors. On the 953 they raise by hydraulics of course. That was the nice thing about WH tractors and impliments! Sometimes you can make an adapter to use them that way! There lies the advantage of the slot hitch! whtractor/whistling2.gif

Psssst! Ya furgeted about the drawbar hitches that don't lift. wink.gif. And I won't get into the three points used on a few models. whtractor/hide.gif

But adapters can be used to hook clevis (sleeve) impliments and drawbar impliments to a slot hitch. So it is probably the most versitile.

Chris pretty much what everyone here has said already.

The 953 normally had a "lifting" slot hitch & a fixed drawbar type hitch below also.
All the Wheel Horse implements that will fit in a slot hitch will work...although your 953 is a BIG tractor & some of the slot hitch implements are desighned for smaller tractors.

953's had some big implements (double gang disc or 10" moldboard plow) but most are getting harder to find.
They also used a differant mower deck than the other Horses...but can still be found.

Get us some pics & let us know what kind of implements you our looking for...maybe someone close can help.
PS....you might want to sniff around your friends some more....may have some implements under piles he forgot about.
