well this makes hydro lift tractor #4. whtractor/thumbsup2.gif . i think im set for now cool.gif .
i found this red unsure.gif simplicity listed last week 5 miles from my house. it was listed as not running-no spark. he wanted too much $ for me to spend so i passed. well i decided to call today and see if he still had it and he did. i went to go look at it and was going to offer ALOT less than he was asking. and being so close to home i just had to go a look at it biggrin.gif .
when i got there he said its been sitting for 5yrs. the sparkplug was left out and the engine was froze. and the deck is froze, and the engine controls are froze. he did,nt relize it had all these promblems. so i offered WAY less than what i was going to offer in the first place and i brought it home whtractor/thumbsup.gif .
come to find out just the generator was froze and all the belts where just frozen on the pullys [8D]. i got the engine to turn over and the hydrolift raised the deck . cool.gif now i just have to get it running.

thanks for the link TT. i have'nt seen that one. someday ill get some more time and $ and actually finish painting some of my tractors.

the front shaft is for a pulley and runs the front implements.
there is a rope start pulley located under the seat on the side of a gear box. i have never tryed to pull start one yet huh.gif.

Really? That sounds like a great feature to me. Was it standard equipment or optional?

I'd love to have a rope starter backup on all of my stuff since it seems I am forever swapping/charging batteries amoung my many tractors. If they had rope starters too I think it would eliminate some hassles for me.

i just keep a little battery booster handy. jump start them right off the generator. good thing about a briggs is it does'nt need a battery to run. its just like a big'ol push mower engine whtractor/thumbsup.gif .
