Anybody built a 3 point hitch on a 3, 4 or 500 series garden tractor? I have a 310-8 with a FEL and was pondering building a 3 pt. hitch. I know there are other 3 pt. mods on the forum but the 3,4 and 500 series have the fuel tank under the seat which could be a problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Hi John
Kevin did a very a nice job building his 3pt on a Bronco 14. While not a 300 series I think you could build something similar for it. His pictures are in the picture galleries under kpinnc
CLick here for pics of Kevins 3ptYou did a real nice job on your loader. You should laod some pictures of it here or bring up the link to the PF site.

Welcome to Redsquare John!
I visited a fellow Wheel Horse collector and Redsquare member in Spencer Indiana a few weeks ago that had made a very nice 3 point hitch on the back of his 300 series tractor. It had all of the normal components of a standard system however, he had vertically mounted a electric/hydrolic cylinder from a Meyer snow plow. It worked very well with only one draw back, no down pressure other than what was created by the weight of the attached impliment. The neat part is that the plow's power angle system allowed the ability to add a second cylinder. (just think of the possibilities)
I also have a buddy that is using the power trim cylinders and pump from a large outboard boat motor. THey have plenty of power and apply pressure in both directions.
Good luck.

John..
I have 2 GT-14's that are in need of 3pt. hitches.
I would like to know if there is a specific source for
the parts used in that home-made 3pt. hitch.
thanks Duane.... But I do not ebay anymore...
Mike, I think Kevin and I both just built the 3 point with some steel. If you cant find existing 3pt parts from a Wheel Horse it wouldnt be to hard to build since your tractor had one as an option.
