Title should have been dozer blade. Started the 60" dozer blade project today! Started with a badly worn 42 dozer blade that had the wear bar bolts worn off! The other was a badly bent 42" blade that apparantly been used for moving dirt or rocks. It had the breakover springs removed and had solid rods installed to prevent breakover.

I started by cutting 9" off the ends of the donor blade.

I left 1" of original frame work to weld to 42" blade.

Then prepped both blade and "wings" for welding.

My beautiful wife...

came out to assist with the photo's.

This is a 51 inch "lopsided" dozer blade.

This is my "new" 60" dozer blade.

Not quite flat when layed out on the floor!

. It was bent a little more than anticipated. Nothing a 12# persuader and a couple block of wood can't handle.
After straightening, I assembled frame to blade and slid it up under the 520 to check tire clearance. When I fabbed the extensions, I added 1" just for this reason.

This photo shows just how much wear the 42 had!

Works perfect!

I still need to make a wear bar,

A float control for the front,

and a new angle control lever (it hits the PTO at full right position)

Here are just a few more pics.

That's all for now. I'll add more pic's as I complete more.
