My friend bid on the 520H in NJ that ended around 8:30am tonight. It was a 1986 520H with 20 hp, 48 inch deck and snowplow in very nice condition. The high bid was $1,376 but still did not met. What is that machine worth?
My buddy is looking for a nice machine with at least 16hp with 48 inch deck, and either plow or snowthrower. Anyone have one for sale near CT?? thanks-

I'm thinking if the reserve was not met at that price, the asking price is too high. 520's are nice to have as they are great machines. It really comes down to how much you feel it's worth. I think $1,000 and up maybe depending on how nice the machine is but I'm always looking for the deal of a century like every one else out there. Ebay is not the best way to determine what a machine is worth in my opinion either. There are several people here who have gotten them for less then that and maybe some have paid more. I'm sure that you will get more responses with some good info.

I bought my 520H off fleabay for $790. This was a good deal, but the tractor was in very poor shape. The engine ran, the trans was good, but that was all the good parts. the bad was the charging system didn't work, there was leaks of all kinds, deck needed work, new belts.... well I guess you get the picture. You gotta base your price not only on the tractor you're buying but also it's condition.

Isn't 88 the first year of the 520?
