li just picked up a 312-8 maroon stripe with 42 inch deck and rear wheel weights tonight for $50.00. it has not run in 2 years but the motor is free and has good compression. i am making a list of must haves and choke and throttle assemblies are needed. if you have any lying around for a reasonable price, please let me know. i want this thing running by the end of the week. thanks- steve in ct 203 448-9310

I've got a 314-8 I've been taking some parts from. I don't know how
close the 312s are to the 14s. Maybe just the engine.
Push/pull throttle or up and down? Can you post a pic?

choke cable is push/pull and the throttle is up/down. i think the only diff is the motor hp. let me know what you have, free moving etc. thanks- steve

I have both the throttle and choke off both tractors. Let me make
sure they're all good. What about the dash panels or anything? Floor
boards? Clutch or brake pedals. The frame isn't any good. The hood
and fenders have major rust through. Only one engine which I need.
I threw the seat away. I'm keeping the wheels since I have multiple
tire sets. Lights are not any good. I have the shifter balls. Front
axle is there. No tie-rods. Side panels are there but I don't know
the shape. Wiring harness is still there. I still have the diff/tranny!!

I just wanted to publically thank Butch for going above and beyond by not only sending me a set of choke and throttle cables but he cleaned them up and lubed them AND.....said "you don't owe me anything"........ That is the kind of members we have here...obviously i will be sedning him "something" Thanks again Butch!!!
