This is one of those simple things that I'm sure many of you probably already know.
But I was surprised today to find 1" heavy duty rear axle hubs on my GT1142 when I was tearing it down.
I want to use this trans in the Lawn "army" Ranger & will replace it with a heavy 8 speed out of a B when I reassemble the GT 1142.
I knew they were availabe in the 1 & 1/8" size...but never seen on 1" axles.
Now if I only had Dale's fancy tool to get them off. whtractor/banghead.gif

Get that tool Stephen. I broke one of those on that very same transmission! mad.gif

Seems like the 1 inch axles are harder to get hubs off of to me...

I may try a flywheel puller & a torch?
Kevin I agree & have been hearing the same things too.
Maybe the PB Blaster genie will come tonight & do her magic. whtractor/scratchhead.gif

Tickster- Got a small muffler gun? Spray with PB-after you let it set-"gently" go at the hubs from the inside, right down near the axle, the "small" vibrations work wonders.-AL whtractor/thumbsup.gif

Stephen, I found another plate amongst the, uh, stuff. Send me your addy, get yourself some grade 8, fine thread bolts, and you'll be in business.
